I know you’re probably expecting them to come from me. Sometimes they do! But this time I’m going to defer to Elizabeth Gilbert.
This is an incredible, 18-minute dissection of creativity and how our society abuses the creative soul. It’s funny, it’s got history, and If you have a heart, or if you’ve ever attempted to make something your own in your life, this speech will get to you.
It honestly makes me wish that I lived in ancient Greece (for reasons which will become apparent once you check out the video). Although they didn’t have electricity, which as we all know is critical for guitar amplifiers. Or Trader Joes. That would certainly be a tragedy…but hey, they were into those back then. *cue comedic sting*

Wow, what an amazing speech. Thank you for bringing this to everyone. The right thing to watch at the right time.
All of my creative friends…watch this video (YOU! CAROLYN! READ THIS!)…very cool post Nicky.
Dear Nick Papageorge:
Thank you Nick for the post on Elizabeth Gilbert!! Elizabeth is both extremely articulate and smart. While referencing her experiences with “the source,” it brought to mind the experiences I have had as well with “the source.” While many people have difficulty with the definition of “God”, it is justifiable. How are we able to define “God?” How are we able to accept “infused knowledge” and or creativity given to us by God? Can it be that “God” does give us knowledge by infusing it to our brains IF we are willing to learn how to listen and accept it? Maybe its only important to KNOW and ACCEPT that GOD DOES EXIST?.
If you choose to investigate the Philosophical question of the existence of GOD (and prove to yourself that God exists) and the various definitions of it, then I suggest that you seek out a learned person, scholar, or omniscient. My investigation began with an understanding of World history. Then I read about all of the world religions/philosophies. I then read many books on spirituality. Then books on life after death. Then books about near death experiences. Then books on Virtues. Then books on Art, Music and Literature. Then books on alien beings from other planets. Finally, books on Quantum Physics.
The reading of these books took place over a 20 year period.
Philosophy is the study of general problems concerning matters such as existence (my chosen study), knowledge, truth, beauty, justice, mind, language, etc.

My conclusion, (so far) from my extensive readings has convinced me that we never die. We are as infinite as the Universe or Universes.
We live in a four dimensional existence but there has been unfolded at least 7 more dimensions. I am sure it is even more complex than we know or are able to know. With respect to the definition of God, it seems indefinable given our naivete and or primitiveness. We may be infants in the universes of life.
Know this, if we are able to ACCEPT that there is a “source” that is THROUGHTOUT THE UNIVERSE OF UNIVERSES, AND IT IS A “FIELD” OF ENERGY THAT HAS INTELLIGENCE BEYOND OUR COMPREHENSION, then we may have a start for defining “GOD.” If you want “proof” of this “field” then read a book called “The Field” by Lynne McTaggert.
We are all connected for a reason.
Best Wishes,
