Leave All Your Fears At The Door
And enter the rehearsal room of your grandmother’s favorite new band.
If you have been to a thatwasthen show, then you must have wondered what it takes to develop the songs, their lyrics and the sound of all your favorite songs. If so then you have entered into a state of mind called thatwasthentia. As I sit in a sound proofed room in a studio in sherman oaks, CA i cant help but notice just what it takes for the boys of thatwasthen to write, create, develop and perfect the next new song. i have seen first hand the process, the creativity and the drive for perfection that go into their music. i saw such songs as absolute zero, girl (you don’t have it), both to blame and mr. politician transform from just chord progressions and lyrics into full blown rock songs. what comes from these rehearsals is developing to the best of their great abilities the songs they write until they are as perfect as they believe they can be.
With so much training in musical theory, it’s no wonder that the guys can write, play and sing so well. But with so many new songs being performed it’s hard to believe just how these new songs go from ideas to 100% ready to perform so quickly.
At the next rehearsal we shall delve into some of the new songs, see the changes made. How old songs are changed and new songs are written.

I am your host… Your Ghost Host (maniacal laughter) My name is Ryan Mitchell and you, the reader are my next victim. Now don’t think of being the victim as a bad thing. Only that you will be a victim of enlightenment, humor, farcical stories and the occasional embedded video for your viewing pleasure.
So sit back, use your (insert your hand of choice) to take a sip of your favorite beverage sitting next to you, take a deep breath and get ready to go where no fan has gone before. (At least not since the 60′s)
As this is the first issue, if you will, I must address the most recent and upcoming events for all you thatwastheninites out there.
As you know thatwasthen have a show coming up this Saturday August 22nd at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. Well just in case any of you out there were even thinking about skipping this show so you could spend the evening watching Desperate Housewives, Kendra Wants A Millionaire or So You Think You Can Dance, well then I believe I should inform you that attending the show will guarantee a much needed blowing of your mind. In attending the most recent band practice I was witness to a sneak peek of the set list for the upcoming show and though I have been to many a practice before, never have I been so blown away by the awesomely epic 50 minutes worth of pure unfiltered awe that lay before me.
Now remember there are only a precious few tickets remaining so I say to you, Nay, I urge you to contact one of the 5 band members to possibly obtain a ticket to the can’t miss event of the summer.
