A Poem For Today

On blistered summer tuesdays

we listen to the sun

to try and hear its heartbeat–

the life of every one.

We are its only project

no other thinkers known

and so we are its First Time

the first planet its blown.

And in this sense you’re sacred,

just like the orb above,

but you won’t one day kill us all,

you only offer love.
